People,

My 4.3 has got non standard wheels, from previous owner. Now they look nice enough, but there not as sexy as the originals.

What is the name of the original 4.3 wheels?

Also, places were I can get these cheaply would be nice.

Also, anyone got suggestions of other wheels people have on there griff's that look good ( maybe even pictures )

Cheers,

Mart

Hello Mart,
Can't help with the original 4.3 wheels but have been down the aftermarket route.

There someone else on here who has had some nice looking wheels fitted, worth a look.
Have you though about the Spider conversion mentioned or maybe there'll be some second hand Griff wheels looking for a home as a result.

Mel,

How much does it cost for the 5 stud conversion etc. I assume this is possible for pre-cat griffs

Estoril 7 spoke wheels are firred to Griffith 500s. 4.x Griffiths had either the Star 5 spokes (two for sale in PH classifieds at present)or as an extra cost option OZ splitrim multispokes. All three are getting scarce but maybe if some owners convert to spiders there will be some available secondhand.

The 5 spoke ones are the ones I've got. I'll get make etc of the wheels at some point over the weekend and post them here.

The older wheels are OZ cross spoke. They were also fitted to the wedges.

They were ours for sale, one of our clients had them sitting in his barn - they sold in 24hours for the record!

Good TVR wheels, especially factory standard ones will be harder to find as time goes on.

Anyway we made a man very happy in Bath!

Five spokes were made by Amil of Belgium for TVR.

Late '92 and early '93 Griffiths were also fitted with 5 spokes made by Gotti of Italy, which are slightly different to the Amils in their dimensioning.

id love a set of those oz cross spokes that scruffy is showing,is it yours scruffy?ive got a '97 500,but think these would look much better on it.ive read somewhere that they cant be re-furbished,why is that? i cant really see why.id love to buy a secondhand set but id be very lucky to find a mint set,so i thought of re-furbing a less tidy set.anybody done this? any info greatly appreciated.

Anyone ever tried these guys?

www.splitrims.com/

Thay can apparently make up wheels for any fitment and they have a cross spoke design available in either billet or cast:
www.splitrims.com/pages/billet30.html
www.splitrims.com/pages/dm.html

definitely not the cheapest option available but being genuine split rims they're repairable shoud the worst happen.

There's no reason why they can't. They're not alloys as such, and have a protective layer on the outside - if you get a bit keen with the Wonder Wheels cleaning stuff, they can become pitted and lose their shine.

You could drop these a line and ask...

The photo - not a million miles off...

Just to confuse things. My late 92 Griff has the 5 spoke wheels - just had them refurbed and they are off the car at the moment. On the outside it reads Camille Gotti Axia plus size & offset. On the inside on the back of the spokes its got AMIL and Made in Belgium!!

If you are after a set of cross spokes, there was a guy at back home (red Griff) who had a new set which were 17" all round made by Compomotive. They look exactly like the OZ ones, but absolutely stunning as 17" (although 15 & 16" are available)

The style is "CX" web site is:
