Hi guys

Can one of you do me a massive favour please and take a pic of your rear number plate with the light on. I wanna see how the light looks when it shines through the number plate.

I got a transulent plate and put two lights behind them for my golf but it don't look right. I just see what they look like on the tvr.

Cheers

Hi PDA I don't know how to direct you to a thread, but I wrote one in about Feb on a similar matter, my Griff failed its MOT due to the lack of light shining through, after several good ideas, ended up putting silver foil inside the opening, (just lost my concentration as watching the colonic irrigation sequence on the TV at the moment!!)
Best of luck, but I ended up ordering a whole new plate.

Hi, you may want to avoid silver foil as this can create a hotspot of lite behind the plate, another alternative is to visit B&Q and get some White vinal stickly back plastic that people use to discuise old fridges. Cut the sheet in to a series of rectangles to fit the recess. This should improve the light reflected out and help diffuse it a bit.

No idea what its called. I have seen it in a few places like art ships and DIY stores, its on a role about 50cm wide, cut the size you want, peal off the wax paper and stick down. It comes in variouse finishes, white, red, blue, silver sometimes and some nasty mock wood and fabric weave.

Just trip along to your local signwriters who will keep loads of colours in stock of this stuff as its very rare they actualy paint signs nowardays and buy the amount you need. Shouls be a lot cheaper than buying a big roll and whilst there you can chuckle at all the stickers they make for 'cabriolets' and 'turbogttwincamrudeboys' etc etc.
