I need to consider towing the Griff to TVR power from Maidstone but not sure how to go about it?

I do have a fixed towing bar but not sure if there is anywhere to attach it to on the Griff, a friend does have tow bar fitted to the back of his car but no trailer, anyone know where I could rent one?

There is a tow thing on a griff. It's not exactly at the front of the car, more half way between the front wheels, you'll have to get a bit dirty to reach it. Trailer is a good idea, check clearances. Hope it gets better soon.

Apparently the cam bearings have shifted in the engine so needs a full bottom end rebuild, Just getting quotes now for the work, TVR Power seem to be very competitive in their pricing and I’m thinking that it will look better in the history.

Johno, I have just spoken to them and they have finally given me a quote, it was actually a very good price so I’ll be going down there to talk it over tomorrow morning. Still keeping my options open though.

Far better and safer to trailer it over that distance. I would be willing to give you a hand if not working. When are you planning to do it?
Trident Trailers in Maidstone will hire you one.
Used them when I picked up my Caterham from er...
Caterham.

Decided not to take it to TVR Power, the current garage are going to do it, they have plenty of experience of the V8’s.

The cam bearing had shifted forward causing low oil pressure to the crank, the end bearings were in a bad way bad way. Its getting new cam, bearings, rings, crank and rods are going to be machined.

Any idea what caused the cam bearings to move? They shouldn't be under any great longitudinal loading, as usually they are just a press fit in the block, with the camshaft endfloat being controlled by some form of thrust washer.

Paul.

Not sure but you could see it had drifted out until it reached the follower. Still it'll all be back together good as new soon.

Hopefully I should get it back in a couple of weeks, then got to run it in again.

Good job I'm there to see the petrol station rather than trying to race a tractor
