Couldn't find a refernce to this...

Current draw on the battery through the following...

1) Electric windows and interior lights fuse.
2) Alarm fuse.

2) was traced to the siren module which doesn't work at the moment anyway so unplugged. SOlved this one.

1) still haven't traced this. Am currecntly removing this fusr when I leave the car so the battery doesn't get flattened.

Any ideas ? IIRC the both interior lights wouldn't work when was testing this so is it something that is easy to access ?

Does the interior light "hold time" module draw some power? You know what I mean, the jobby that keeps the light on for 10 secs after closing the door. Could draw current even though the light it off.

How much draw were you seeing though?

Snarfy,

The window switches can stick On with age. I had the same problem, a new switch solved it.

Hi guys,
The current drain was around 20mA I think although it could have been 200. Obviously 200 is rather alot. It flattened the battery in about 2 weeks to the point where I couldn't even open the boot. As mentioned, netiher interior light seemed to work at all.
As to the windows sticking...I don't understand how this could be the problem as neither window was trying to go up or down (if you know what I mean).

I have it on good authority that this is a very common fault, and you should probably investigate it first.

Cheers Rude Girl.

Erm how do I go about investigating ? Is it in Steve Heaths First Edition (I'm at work and its not !) or are the electronics under the glove box somewhere ?

Try checking your relays,

as I read a post regarding fuel pump relays and someone who knew about these things mentioned that the wrong type relay (TVR's have a "special one" ,supposedly) would draw power as it doesnt switch off.

OK I've put my fix in another post but your all right. Looks like the interior light relay. I've finally pulled the thing out (haven't had chance to use the car really for ages) and current draw stops. I'll get me a new part and give you all an update. Thanks guys!
