I would omagine this is a very old question

I intend to clean and polish etc. my new pride and joy on Sunday and I was wondering what were the best products to use, especially for the leather interior, roof and car wax.

Any input would be much appreciated.....

Products I have found the best are:-

Paintwork Waxes etc. - Zymmol Cleaner Wax (Halfords), Meguiars Gold Class(Mail Order 0870 241 6696) , Turtlewax Gloss Guard (Halfords).
Hood - Renovo (dry cleaner & colour restorer/ Mail Order), Fabsil (waterproofs /Camping shops).
Leather - Gliptone (Mail Order).
Alloy Wheels - Cif Lemon Bathroom Mousse (supermarket).
Tyres - Meguiars Endurance.(Mail Order).

Plenty of elbow grease as well. Good polishing but don't forget to drive it.

There's another, and informative, thread about waxes at the moment.

As a Luddite - I use Mer 100% of the time for the outside (and put up with the fact that I have chosen a colour which looks dirty three seconds after it's been polished!!!! ), but there are plenty of better products too.

Inside I have found some Zymol leather cleaner and it seems to do a good job of getting the grime out of the cracks - but anything good for feeding leather used regularly will be good. I do hate that "shiny bum" feeling though when you jump in soon after a feed!!!

Mr Muscle window cleaner inside and Rain-X on the outside (get the screen squeaky clean first by using newsprint with a dilution of vinegar) and polishing with newsprint. For the scratches on the rear screen I got the really expensive two pot stuff that you can get from the TVRCC. Really does a wonderful job.

Turtle alloy wheel cleaner for the brake dust and then "bumper cleaner" for smartening up the tyres.

Oh - and I don't do any of it too much - too busy putting more miles on the clock

Now - need to buy a collapsible bucket for "Back Home" - where will I find one?

The Autoglym Super Resin Polish followed by the High Gloss Resin seems to get it looking like new again.

I was quite astounded at the quality of the finish - but it does take ages.

Try getting a Zymol starter pack. It includes most of the products you need and gives a top quality finish. I bought the pack containing wax recommended for Italian cars -not sure why now, but I think I read that this was the one for TVR's.

Good luck.

I got the standard Zymol starter pack for light coloured cars. However, they do a wax for GRP (aimed at bolt on spoilers etc) which might actually be slightly better for a TVR as it is aimd at helping paints flex. It includes car wash, HD-Cleanse (pre-wax cleaner similar to, but not as abrasive as, T-cut), Wax, leather treatment (make sure you get this pack as the other starter kit has fabric? cleaner), cotton applicator pads and foam wax applicator pad.

The smell after using it all is fantastic. Did both cars on the same weekend and was very happy with the results. The most effort was the HD-Cleanse but that's a once a year job. The wax was really easy.

Other people recommend other stuff such as Zaino but I haven't tried that.
