Arrrgh!... Just found out that Joolz @ Joospeed is stopping doing servicing to concentrate on performance stuff ... anyone know anywhere around West Yorks that they can recommend using without paying main dealer rates for little jobs like fitting fan over ride switches and system flushing etc???

Performance =

Not so fast young master Shelley .. bit of Chinese whispers going on already .. you may yet still return to TVR land and if so I'll gladly service your car. The business was always set up to do performance orientated work and this is where the business emphasis will shift over the summer, but I also value very highly those customers who have been with me from the early days; I was grateful for your custom then and I'll continue to look after you in the future.
However, because of the need to manage my time in a more sensible manner it means I won't be taking on new customers purely on a servicing and fault fixing basis since that would compromise not only the service I already offer to existing customers, but also the expansion of the thriving performance side. Rumours of the death of servicing are greatly exagerrated !
cheerz.

Soz Joolz... didn't mean to worry your existing customers!

The only other person I can seem to find for servicing is TJ in Boroughbridge, which is even harder to get to than Chesterfield

Plus... I think I am also in need of a good bodyshop! Two weeks ago I noticed a hairline crack on the off side front wing, running up from the wheel arch just level with the front edge of the wheel rim... last night I checked and it has grown from 1" to about 3". I can only presume that this is the line of the nose cone that is moving. Anyone know if this is going to be a big job to fix?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions guys but I'm pretty new to TVR ownership!

thanks.

Hurray, and the was much rejoicing - and relief - in the land!!

So once again interesting options open up before me.

The black bug is apparently due for imminent return, do I keep it and mod the hell out of it whilst always having that feeling that it's let me down once before - can I trust it?!! OK, driving lessons are always a good plan too

Or do I chop it in for something with a proper engine that I can hold my head up at Pistonhead meetings when I turn the engine on? After all I do have a certain loud reputation to maintain

And if I do, do I go with what I know and get back in the TVR saddle - mmmmmm, pre-cat Griff Sir? Or do I try something a little different but not too different, perchance a Marcos?

Decisions, decisions, decisions!!

Alasdair, I don't know where you are in West Yorks, but if you can take a trip over them there hills to Manchester - and then down to M60 Jn 1 (Stockport), you could try Shane Fearns at SFR Engineering. (www.sfrengineering.co.uk). Shane used to be a TVR race mechanic - and he can service V8s etc. I hear good reports about him though I have not used him myself (just yet).

Oh, and thanks for the vote (!) - maybe catch up with you at a meet in the near future?

Try Jonathon Moorhouse @ Fast Car Clinic,Bradford he used to campaign a racing Tuscan and certainly knows his stuff. I was recommended to him by a fellow TVRCC and have found him to do a good job at a reasonable price. Nice guy and likes TVRs which also helps.

Cool! Thanks for that Graham. I've bitten the bullet and have it booked in for its 42k at Christopher Neils, but for various other bits and pieces I want doing before I take it down to Spain I'll give these guys in Bradford a call
