I notice that the bolts at base of hood frame regularly work loose. They are also very tatty against the leather trim. Any suggestions for tidying these up? Can replacements in chrome or alloy be sourced anywhere? Maybe Leven could produce replacements?

Yeah obviously silver or other colour paint is a temporary solution but what about a long-term solution? Don't say more silver paint. Has anyone removed these bolts? Does the hood frame collapse or can they be removed, chromed and then replaced easily?

Hehe Thats not Jigs biting back, think his question was just directed at anyone who had replaced with or had chromed the bolts.

Jigs, did you goto the Kirkistown yesterday, we did and got soaked, but it was fun.

The Lister Jaguar sounded sooooo good. Pity about the Maserati Birdcage getting smacked at the Hairpin.

Yes Simpo I wasn't biting your head off - I appreciated your response - must be the Ulster accent and my sense of humour.
Smirnoff - I did go for a short time but headed home when the heavy rain started. See you at Kirkiston track day in the morning. A couple of Scots TVRs are over. By the way all TVRs are welcome to our track days only £60 for the day. Dates in Sprint.
Anybody got a couple of spare hood bolts or can they be ordered from TVR? I've decided to have a couple chromed so I will need spares.

I changed all mine on the hood frame top and bottom for stainless steel bought for pennies at a local fastenings supplier, Namrick in Brighton / Hove.I trust you do mean the domed ones on the alloy stays, rather than the hoop pivots?
The hood wont collapse on you when there undone, but just do one side at a time.I polished the stays up at the same time.

I miss-read your original post, you did say the B post!

You can get those in stainless steel as well.

Mine (V8S) has a black plastic push-on cover over the head of these bolts. I expect they're all rusty underneath but I don't bother them and they don't bother me.
