Hi all, after spending much time tuning my Lotus Elise for someone to nicely write off for me, I have just bought myself a 1992 Imperial blue Precat 4.0 litre Griff. It needs some work such as a wing mirror which I am told is a Citroen CX part?

The car was clear on all checks its just that I need to fix the door locking mechanism on the drivers side as it will not lock with the alarm I think this is the solenoid any thoughts??

Despite what people sat about economy I stayed at 60ish all the way from London to Manchester and only used half a tank, which I think is really good, although I used the rest of my fuel taking my old man out for a spin!!

Thanks - Matt

Good work fella, you won't regret upgrading!

How do you find the Elise and Griff compare so far?

I wasnt really that impressed with the Elise even though it cost me a fortune to tune and had on the Rollers 170 at the Flywheel. The griff is my dream car although it doesnt handle like an Elise its miles more fun and practical. I just dont yet have the bottle to drive the griff as fast as the elise around corners. In my opinion the elise doesnt even compare and tuning it was a nightmare costing alot for a new ECU etc. As for tuning the griff - I dont need to, I love it, I think Ill pop over to TVR factory again (as I lodge near there for work) this weekend and have a look what theve got Im hooked now. I just wish Id have realised before I bought the elise.

Welcome to the world of real cars - the Elise although pretty and renowned for it's handling is really only a toy by comparison with the Griffith. Bit like giving up Alcopops for Real Ale or better still Guinness/Black Bush.
