Just completing the waxoyl ritual to the chassis again, and this year removed the front dampers to get at the back of the upper wishbones properly and clean up the springs etc.As anyone that has done this will tell you access to the lower bolt is restricted by the wishbone, I cant get a socket in there and be able to turn it. The torque setting is quoted as 55-60 ft lbs for all damper mounts, top one no problem, but how to check the lower? Also, should the cars weight be on the suspension via a trolley jack under the lower swivel when these are tightened, any advice anyone?

Thanks,

The exact torque isn't critical. Just do them up moderately tight with a ring spanner - a typical spanner will give you 6" leverage so 100 lbs or so of force on it will be about right.
