How much for a nice one ?

Pete,
You get what you pay for, I went to see a lot of these cheaper Griffs and ended up just wasting my time. I was told not to buy an early Griff 500 by a man in the know, 1998 plus are the ones to go for, because of the mods and better build quality so thats the one I went for. And a top one will cost you £20,000 plus, unless the seller is very desperate or sad and wants to go back to his boring porker because the Griff scares the living daylights out of him. Fcuking Fair Weathered TVR owners who don't know what its all about.

Why did you feel you wasted your time seeing these cheaper Griffs? What was wrong with them – there must be good ones out there where the owner is forced to sell – for a soon-to-be-owner like me they will be the ones I'll be trying to root out.
Really, at the end of the day, like everything, you get what you pay for ...

Horseplop mate. I had build no.1 of the 500's ('93) and never had a squeak of bother from it other than wear and tear stuff. Age and mileage are not direct indications of condition. Check the car out or get an expert to do it for you. Btw. I saw recently that it's up for sale at Adrian Blythe.

This is what I'll be purchasing with a good check over by the local TVR dealer/specialist. Bargain or what?

what do you reckon an N reg is good for then
If its a good one keep hold of it no matter what year it is, As long as you keep on top of it and keep it well serviced you can ask what you want for it, I've spent a lot of time and money traveling the length of the UK looking for the right one, I believe these cars are very special and good ones will always find buyers willing to spend the money. Not that I'll ever be selling mine. All I was saying is if you have the money its worth going for a good 1998+. Not trying to have a go at anyone because all the Griffs are GREAT no matter what year they are.
I'll look out for you in Cambs then mikey. No offence taken fin, I asked because it's obvious you've seen plenty of Griffs. I love mine and hope never to have to sell it. Mark, my workmates will see this thread tomorrow so I'll get them to send an apology

If the Griffith is a second car why not buy one now as cheap as possible, spend ten grand or so making it superb over the winter. Then keep it forever.
