Well, was reliably informed by an ex TVR employee to dislodge the rad a little to free up the side lugs (top ones that bolt onto bodywork) then using a pair of mole grips bend the lugs back as much as possible, say 1 cm each side.

With this the rad will come str8 out - no scratches.

Leave lugs bent in when replacing, should be sufficient room to slightly unbend in situ and provided you can relocate the bolts through the holes, use the washers and nuts via tightening to squeeze the lugs back into place!!!

Easy when you know how, or in my case told how!!!!

Rad re-cored for £150, complete the same day. Fantastic service. Rad looks brand new.

Other alternative is to remove the air filter housing, and slide the rad up and lift the bottom end out first. The opening lower down towards the chassis might be wider.

This was sent to me as a result of this post. Why they did not just post I do not know.

May try if next time, or maybe not!!
