A funny thing happened to me on the way to the circus...

I parked outside a friend's house today and put the handbrake on. As I let go, it went 'phutwoing' and a shower of bits catapulted out. On closer examination the central button had pinged out and five little washers had ended up neatly in the groove inside the windscreen near the airvents!

I got them out with a magnetic probe jobby and discovered the incident was caused by the button coming unscrewed - the spring inside had done the rest. A nice bizarre and harmless incident easily fixed, for a change (much to the amusement of my passenger!)

Just as well you weren't sitting on it at the time.
But you could still have used your 'magnetic probe jobby' to retrieve those washers from your 'groove -- near the airvent'.

Well gee it's nice to be appreciated 'Banane Jaune'.

It just went 'ping', honest Doc! Actually a part of me wanted it to be bust so I'd have an excuse to get a trendy new one (and for Jig's benefit, I mean handbrake, not willy...)

That is soooooo strange. I parked mine at home last night and for the first time in about 2 months used the handbrake.

Exactly the same thing happened, except the button bounced off the dash board and ended up in my lap... For a moment I couldn't work out where it had come from. I lost the washers down the side of the drivers seat, and can't retrieve them. I've screwed the button back in and all seems fine...

I meant your handbrake. Do you make a habit of sitting on your willy then? Boasting - Eh? I tuck mine inside my sock.
