Had the Griff out for a spin today and ......

The temp gauge was moving up and down between 60 to 70 really quickly (1 second) Fans normally cut in at 90 on the dial, but are now coming on at 80....

Is it likely to be the dial or a sensor.. any ideas?

Cheers

A break in the wire that cuts off intermittantly will do this. When open-circuit, the dial quickly goes to max. Mine did this, and only did it when accellerating! Turned out to be a nearly-broken wire.

Now seems ok again................

Will keep and eye on it... and check for a wire problem

Thanks

Just for a bit of info here, if my sender wire is open circuit the guage doesnt work, so if the lead was short to chassis the guage would go to max! If you are a serp you can use the spare sender on the top of the head, i have.
