My Griff 4.3 Has several electrical problems due to previous
Discussion
Allan do you still have a copy of the circuit wiring diagram for the Griffith. I need a copy for my 1992 4.0Lt Griffith. I know there is a copy of the wiring diagram in Steve Heath's bible but this is not the whole wiring diagram. I need the wiring for the fuse box, relays and the dashboard which is not shown on this diagram. I have spoken to the factory and they faxed me a circuit diagram, but it was the same as in Steve's book. They said they would try and find any other circuits for me but I have not heared anthing back yet. Any help would be much apprecated.

I have been trying to get more/better diagrams for years and have been unsuccessful. I am now slowly drawing the diagrams for key parts from scratch and it is not an easy task. Part of the problem I believe is that the cars changed so much electrically that each wiring loom was virtually custom made. For example there are cases of fuse layouts that were only used on a couple of cars. This makes it very very difficult to come up with anything that you can say is definitely the same as in your car.
The bible diagram does refer to the dashboard connectors and these then go into the dashboard itself which is actually pretty well self contained.
It might help if you described the problems and we collectively may be able to guide you.

Thanks for information Steve. What I'm trying to do is run a seperatly fused wire down to each of the cooling fans. So that if one fuse should blow I will stiil have one working fan.
I'm also thinking about changing the warning lights on the dashboard for the oil pressure, indicators, main beam etc over to the late Chimaera type with the aluminium bezels on. So I wanted to find out where the cables connected to and what colour they where.
If I do not get any cicuits then I will probabley trace the wires through the loom from the known points and do some of my own drawings like yourself.

Did the factory not have an aftermarket delay circuit that split the surge to stop the fuse blowing? If not your chosen solution, then just pop in two fuse holders just before the fans. That way if one fan has a problem it wont kick out both fans. If you want another solution, email me direct.
Fans.
The best thing to do is either run another ignition load wire to the second fan and get it to switch on with a relay conbtrolled from the main supply. Bear in mind that this will still give you a single point of failure in the otter switch and relay.
The factory used the horn supply for the second run as it is switched on the earth side inlike nearly everything else.
As for the LED swap over, it should be a simple remove bulb fitting and replace with LED one and I would use the original wiring instead of trying to change it.
