I am trying to remove the drivers side door cards to adjust the height of the window. ive read the bible, but im still struggling to remover the door card. I think the cigar lighter and electric window switches may be holding it on - does anyone know how to remove these or do I just need to put up with the rain getting in ?

Have you got big arms?
If so then forget it.

Remove the speaker.
Remove the red reflector toward the rear of the door card.

Looking at the door panel there is a 6mm (10mm socket) nut in to the left of the spearker hole.

This is the first of three.

The next two are either side if the door pull cutout ,where the mirror adjuster is.
You have to get you arm in with socket in hand and undo the two nuts.
I find a 3/8 drive ratchet with long 10mm socket on makes it easier. Make sure the window is up.
It will HURT and it will SCRATCH THE OUT OF YOUR ARM, but its not to bad......

Oh yeh there is a self tapping screw behind the ashtray also, the ashtray just pulls out.

But hold on, to adjust the window height ,isnt the adjuster just below the window brush? I am sure you can judt do it from there..

You don't need to remove the card to adjust the window, if it is just a bit more 'up' you need. There is a screwhead behind the brush on the inside of the door that you turn to allow the window to raise more.

If it is more than this, and you want to fiddle with the whole window channel, then yes, you will have to 'go in through the speker. The only bit of the cigar lighter and mirror switch then held it in was the wiring and 'just' needed unpluging.

The rest should all be just nuts on the inside, reachable through the speaker hole.

Replace nuts with wing nuts for easier removal next time.
As has been said though, you don't need to remove the door cards to adjust the window height. Can be a b8gguer to find the adjuster screw though!

Don't need to take card off, but lower window all the way to make access easier - flat blade screwdriver and it can't be more than 2 inches lower than the brush seal thingy on the inside of the glass just over half way back (if I remember correctly).

Can't remember which way to turn it though - it'll be a suck it and see, or a read the bible job

Hi, a friendly visitor from the golf club!!!!!
Don't know if a Chimaera is the same as a Griff, no reason why it should be different, there again, no reason why it should be the same!!
perhaps this might help

Chimaera Door Glass Adjustment

Tools required:

- Flat headed screwdriver, torch, TVR Chimaera, good eyesight

- Wind the window down as far as it will go and measure halfway between the 'quarter light' post and the rear of the door. At this point insert something like a large screwdriver and push back the brush. If you look carefully (maybe with a torch) you will see the top of a long metal post thingy. At the top with be a screw thread. Turn this thread to adjust the top height at which the window stops. I believe it was anti-clockwise for higher and clockwise for lower.

** Warning ** Be careful not to turn the screw too much in case something drop/falls off!

Just thought I'd bump this to say thankyou - drivers drop glass was running on the aluminium guide surround instead of inside the rubber guide/channel so I needed to get into the door. Exactly as explained above - screw behind ashtray, screw behind reflector, 10mm bolts forward of speaker and a further two around armrest all with penny washers on. Fiddled, sweared, scratched arm and hand but job done.
Without that explanation of fixings locations above I don't think I would have found 'em all.
Silicone spray has helped too - no rattles, and the window goes up and down almost as quick as one on a real car now wink

Access to that 10mm nut on the far side of the doorpull is trickier than you think...

I would continue to type witty replies, but I can't use my left hand today due to abrasion issues...

No idea what that is - I had the panel off, disconnected the three multiplugs coming out of the hole at the bottom of the door, then peeled a bit of the clear plastic back a bit to get my hand in to access the window channel. I didn't even notice that extra cable tied plug in your pic.

Holy thread resurrection batman! hehe I was looking for a guide to remove the door card and found this thread.

Jag part code DAC3015... door marker lights, rather than reflectors.

I'm having fun with door trim removal today. Just to make sure I'm on the right path, the Bible tells me to remove nut #1, I discovered nut #2, and there is a 3rd one where the ?? are? I'm more than a little concerned that my arm might get stuck on that last one.
