4.2 Engine

I have got the chance of a range rover 4.2 engine
and might buy to work on for an upgrade to the
current 4.0 engine in the griff what will need to
be done to get this some where near 4.3/5.0 spec.
I have rebuilt 20-30 engines in my time including
yanks but never worked on the rover engine. Any advise would be much apreciated.

You could look on the RPI or V8 Development web sites to see what is involved in improving the standard RR V8.

I would have thought cross bolting, new crank, new rods, new pistons, new camshaft, new rocker arms, enlarged valves, polished inlet, etc.

Could be expensive.
