Hi everyone,

Finally getting around to putting the Griff up for sale now.

I thought I'd go the P/X route, or else sell my Griff to a dealer and go and find a private sale, but first a couple of questions:

1. Can anyone recommend a dealer (or several!) who'd offer decent money for the Griff?
2. Why do none of the dealers' websites that I've visited have e-mail contact that works?! I've tried the "Contact us" options and usually get as far as actually keying in a message and hitting Submit before I get an error message or my mail is simply bounced back to me.

Oh well. Any and all ideas gratefully received! Thanks in advance, chaps!

Yep, James is on the case - I'm looking to replace the Griff with a Cerbie so we don't have to leave the baby to fend for himself while we're out on trackdays and stuff. But I need to get things sorted soon so that we can go to France in the new car in early May, so I'm just considering my options...

Do want to swap it for a lovely Supercharged Jaguar XJR V8 (370bhp), plenty of room for the baby, carry cot, toys, nappies etc...

I just happen to know someone

I bought the car back in July last year and it's been absolutely brilliant. The only problem we've had has been with the cold running, which Mark Adams sorted out last December.

I love that car to bits but it has to go so that Junior can travel with us. We've got a Volvo 850 T5 baby wagon as well, but that's not really trackable even with its improved handling kit and sports exhaust and stuff. So a Cerbie it is - unless someone makes us a better offer on an M3 or something.

Don't know about Jaguars though...

Sgirl, i would also try the independants, who advertise on this site, Peninsula, CastleSPORT etc. and best of luck selling / exchanging for a Cerbera..
I remember recently seeing an ad for a Cerbera for P/X with Griffith ?? on this site.

Sorry, and I know I'm biased, but with the fantasitic spring we are having and with summer just around the corner I would have thought you'd have people queing up to swap a Cerbera for your Griffith - I seem to remember it looks particularly hard-core! Rich...

The Cerb/Griff is Jason Pritchard from Leamington way I think?

Worth a call?

SGirl - I just bought a Griff from David Gerald in Inkberrow (Worcs) - noticed from his website he seems to be turning them over (financially speaking)quite quickly, so he might be interested - if you ring speak to Doug.

Good luck

SGirl - I work in the motor trade and I think you'd be shooting yourself in the foot selling it to a dealer as they will only give you a trade price. My best advice would be to phone aprx. 5 dealers to get a bid. You may decide to take the highest bid but you'll find that most will offer you 'auction' value.

If you have more time on your hands, definately sell privately.

Another alternative after phoning the dealers is to try selling in a 'Top Marques' type auction with a reserve of about £ 500.00 more than the best dealers' offer!

Only friendly advice but it could save you at least 500 sheets!

I see you're up on the technical terms Podie , and combining them with a knob gag as well: top marks.

"poke" has so many more humerous connotations in comparison with "horsepower" and "torque"...

... even when I'm not dropping a nob gag into the forum, I seem to do it!

On the rolling road (Power Engineering, Uxbridge, flywheel figure) it had 302 bhp, as for "poke", is that a factor to do with length of bonnet minus number of golf clubs in boot?!

SGirl, try Jonathon Ramsdale...he advertises in the Sunday Times "Driving Section". He seems like a decent guy and appears interested in TVR's...especially this time of year.

I have a 4.7 Cerbera (one of two made) 1998 with 18K miles in excellent condition, just serviced, new clutch etc and I would be interested in a swap with cash for a Griff. I'm in the Manchester area...email me if you are interested.
