Buckled wheels
Discussion
Took both near side wheels (15" &16" 7 spoke) in for a refurb, both have flat spots on the inner rims. B@ll@cks! Does anyone know if these rims are still available and what kind of price I might expect to pay? I was thinking I might upgrade to 16" on the front which would allow me to try Toyo's as I need tyres all round too. This things getting expensive but I'm not giving up yet.

Thanks for the advice guys, I've been looking at the websites of the various wheel manufactures but have not yet found anything suitable,I was thinking of keeping the rim widths the same so you have answered my question re: offsets, thanks. Any ideas for suitbale rims much appreciated. I've checked out RichB's web site, very nice, but I thought these were no longer available, is that right?

I unknowingly had a flatspot on the inside rim of one of my 7spokes (why always the *inside*? How does that happen?!)
I only found out when I changed the tyres. On the balancer you could see the result, it was awful. There was a real dip in the tyre.
Now here's the interesting part. I never noticed it before the change, but I sure did afterwards. Vibration city. There was a problem with the balance on the wheel, so I got it redone, and the nice chaps knocked out the flat spot with a soft mallet and an inner tube to protect the rim (I kid you not!) and the result was great! All free of charge (after spending a wedge on tyres first, natch)

Thanks, regards the Racelines I've heard various opinions on this, as far as I know they are no longer available, since Raceline wereacquired by Speedline? I have also heard people say Peninsula have access to them. if ytou find out let me know because if I knacker one it's a problem for me (and Apache - Pete) if you see what I mean! Cheers Rich...

Hello again, well it's a mixture of good news and bad news, rear rim pulled out fine, front rim cracked, can't blame the company, it was more do do with the amount of damage to the rim (not me by the way).
So, I now have 3 wheels on my wagon.
I'm busy phoning round so will update any interesting developments.
Thanks all
David

It's considered dangerous to use a tube in a tubeless tyre !.
I went to Douglas Valley breakers today, as I was passing nearby anyway, and they've got a few 7 spokes attached to shrapnel that apparently used to be TVRs.
I went in and asked where the TVRs were in the yard and got told to look for the bloodstains...he wasn't kidding, but if you're after a 7 spoke, they might be worth a try, although I wouldn't use one without getting it checked and checked again. Hope this is of some use.
