How long do wishbones last?
Discussion
It depends on lots of things - how much stone chipping to the wishbones, how much winter driving, how often the car is washed and the wishbones cleaned off, whether the wishbones are waxoyled etc...
Mine is also a 1999 Griff with a few more miles than yours - but the wishbones are in excellent condition. I beleive the car was waxoyled regularly - so although some of the powder coating is peeling off, there is virtually no rust.
I think they can go fairly quickly once the powder coating has gone if they are not protected.
You're not having much luck at the moment with yours Dave!

Hi Dave,
I think it would depend on wether they have been looked after.
If left and not re-hammerited or waxoyled and the car is also used in the winter then i would say that they would deteriorate a fair bit quicker than ones that have been.
The ones on my Griffith(96) are the original ones are as good as new but i have re-hammerited them. Also the ones on my 'S3'91 where in good condition also i had hammerited them every year or two.
You have to remember the wishbones and the Front Outriggers are very prone to flying stones that chip of the coating.

How many turkeys still in the force madcop?
Just a flippant dig - I've read some of your threads and you are making some refreshing sense.
Its difficult to soar with eagles when there are so many turkeys to work with!
