For Steve Heath.........

Steve,
I have your 2nd Edition. Both it AND the owners handbook claim there is a rotary switch for the second cold air blower on the Griff 500. Apparently it's 'under the dashboard on the right of the steering coloumn'? I have a May 1996 Griff 500 but for love nor money can't find this switch. Were they put on ALL the cars? It's certainly NOT in the steering column, neither in the dash. Must confess I haven't looked underneath behind the dash but I'd have thought it would have been a fairly obvious switch.......
Can you post a photo of where this devious switch is???
Thanks
Rupert

I was wondering about this myself. My car (first reg'd June 96) does not appear to have one. The fan controlled by the rotary switches on the centre console panel seems to push air thru all the vents. Also the vent in the drivers footwell is to the left, not on the right as in the book (1st edn).
Also, when the other heater control knobs are adjusted, is there always the sound of a motor operating in the depths of the dashboard? One of mine does not appear to get this response.

About the heater switches - not all make the noise. From memory (sold it 2 years ago) the recirculation knob doesnt - only the ones requiring a motor do i.e. thermostat control and fan speed iirc
I think its the recirc control that is silent. Next question is, how does it work if it does not control a motor that moves flaps?
