saw another threat on no. of 4.3's so:

how many LHD Griff's have been produced?

how many LHD Griff 500's? (any SE's among them?)

I saw a total of 1.179 up till 1997 in Steve's bible but no split in RHD/LHD. Also, might be nice to have the full numbers up till end of production.

The LHD/RHD split is unknown but about 100 of the 4.x were LHD and I would guess about the same number of 500's were made. The Complete run I have estimated at around 1729 500's. The factory think it is around the 1675 mark. The new figures are in the new edition of the bible.

o.k. this would mean that no more than 200-300 LHD 500's were made; this makes it quite a rare beast!
nice to know

I think there were even less 4.3 Griffith's, making them the even rarer beast.

Well you can actually read Steve's comment it two ways. Either of which could be correct .

1. The same proportion of 500's where made LHD as proportion of 4.3's (so about 300-ish).

2. The same number of 500's were LHD as 4.3's (so 100-ish).

Is the factory's lack of exact figures down to poor book keeping or manual procedures making if difficult to get exact records? I would have thought that even the most basic computer and spreadsheet would be able to track the small numbers of orders we are talking about.

yep, the 4.3 is rarer, especially LHD and even more so the BV's. I used to have one but wanted more power/better chassis.
