Now that spring is around the corner TVRs are becoming more sort after. A dealer told me this week that Griff prices are now hardening due to lack of supply now the factory completed production-their prices certainly reflected that. Anyone comment on whether the drop over the last year or two maybe levelling out?
definately seems to be the case,especially with earlier cars,they dont seemed to have moved at all in last year,non cat 4.3s must be the best value/investment.newer cars will still have a bit to drop i think,but not too much.if you think about it,just how low can middle aged griffs drop when earliest are not dropping?Then you go on some more by thinking that all previous models pre griff would also have to drop to allow earliest griffs to drop!thats surely not likely to happen is it?i bought my griff last august knowing that i shouldnt loose too much whilst i wait for the tuscan s market price to drop more significantly,im thus narrowing that affordability gap! CANT WAIT FOR ANOTHER 10 YEARS TO PASS!

now, that all depends on wether the dealer wants to sell you a Griff or you want to sell him/part ex yours

Having just bought a 96 Griff, and been looking for about a year, I would say that prices have definitely bottomed out (Can I say that here? ) and may even be rising slightly. I suspect the same is true for the S.
TV programmes like the recent Wrong Car, Right Car must have helped too.

I was getting a little concerned about how mine would fair given that I am up to a healthy mileage and counting. In discussion with a local independent dealer, and although we didn't get down to £££s, he pointed out that everything has a price.
Looking around Chimaeras seem to have a natural lower level, along with V8S, just above the S and then Griffiths, just through the numbers in supply (1:3 compared to Chimaeras) seem pitched at £2k more.
I think that, just now, the effects of
-further ageing
-economic uncertainty
are neatly balanced with
-spring/summer factor
-general desirability of the marque
-the influence of PH and other sensible information sources
Could be wrong, but I don't think this balance will last for ever! Most likely run out as Cerberas, Tuscans and Tamoras become even more affordable and if there are long term economic problems.
But more importantly, aforementioned dealer reckoned that today he just cannot easily find good ones and if he does the demand is such that they are scooped up.
