Under dash click and engine cutting out
Discussion
I've searched for others with this problem, but no one mentions any noise coming from under the dash. I think it might be the immobiliser or something to do with the alarm. Would that cut the engine and then start up again as the car continued on its way (like a rolling start)? If it stalls at lights it usually strats up again almost immediately. I've taken to keeping the engine on high revs and heel and toe stuff when slowing down.
It's got me baffled! Help!!

Could it be anything to do with the rollover cut-off switch for the fuel? That's under the LHS of the dash. Otherwise, it's probably a relay if you hear a click. On the Chimaera there are a bunch which are only exposed if you lift the LHS of the dash. Of course your noise could be coming from the main fuse board/pile of cables including various relays in the passenger footwell. Whatever, something's loose or intermittently failing ... check them.

this fault sounds similar to something that plagued my car for ages, and probably has nothing to do with your gremlin but here it is and hopefully it may help.
my engine would cut out while driving and sometimes would restart immediately and other times i'd have to wait 30 mins, I knew it wasn't the immobiliser as I could turn over the engine and it also had a spark,so it had to be fuel.
its a long story which ill cut short, basically the tape/radio was resting on a loom conection behind the dash and as the car would drive over a bump the tape player was moving a terminal in the conection slightly and breaking the feed, this terminal supplied the fuel solenoid which in turn fed the fuel pump.
I couldn't normally hear anything at high speed but a trip ot my local Tescos which has speed ramps put me closer to the fault as when i launched myself off a said ramp heard the fuel pump stop which led me back to the connector.
hope you find what it is
