Griff Badge- On Ebay
Discussion
Maybe a bargin for someone?

But who's going to tell him '500' is the engine size not the number made, so it's not quite as rare as he thinks it is

Now if he had a Griffith 500 Special Edition Badge....
But then again, he probably wouldn't know just how rare that was

I see a collection coming on here........
I have a display case sitting doing SFA......
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.....
Douglas Valley Breakers usually have a good supply. I got one for £15 including postage. I visited this guy's spot on ebay and every time I made an offer it was mysteriously outbid by 50p. I think we are dealing with an ignorant prat.

Isn't that just because someone had already entered a higher amount than you as their maximum bid? That's just how Ebay works - nothing to do with him.
Provided he hasn't nicked the badge, good luck to him.
Clearly is he taking out of his @rse about rarity etc... - but then 'rare' and 'collectors item' seem to be on every ad on Ebay

well I don't know how ebay works but I made three offers and each time--immediately-- back came "you have been outbid" and every time by exactly 50p
This happens all the time to me on everything on eBay. I've been trying to buy some core memory on there for a while. I believe there's a way to get eBay to do this automatically - you enter a maximum amount, and it automatically outbids anyone else up to that maximum. And if eBay can't do that, there are several "robot" sites that will do it for you.
Lets say you want the badge. Its currently up for £3.50. You want it so much that you would be prepared to pay £10. So you enter £10 as your maximum bid. Hey presto - you are the highest bidder at £4.00 (as EBay will bid the minimum amount needed on your behalf).
Someone else comes along - lets call them Trevor. £4 for a TVR badge - 'bargain' Trevor thinks - and bids £4.50. Quick as a flash he is out bid by 50p and the price has gone up to £5.00. So he tries £5.50 and the same happens.
The person outbidding Trevor each time is you - unless he enters a price higher than your maximum - i.e. he bids £10.50.
Nothing fishy going on - its quite logical when you think about it.
