Exhaust manifold gakets
Discussion
Help! I run a 96 500 Griff, and I am just removing an exhaust manifold for the 4th time in 16000 miles, to replace a leaking gasket. ( as I currently do 20-30,000 a year, this is becoming a pain! ) I regularly check the bolts, and have tried reinforced gasket paper but no joy. It is normally the rear cylinder that fails. Has anyone had a similar problem, or know of any sealent or gasket material that may help.
They are not a TVR main dealer but my car is 5 years old so I'm not too bothered about that. They only work on TVR's and the mechanic has a griff too. I would rather take the car down too them as I know there work and I know I can trust them with my car plus they appear to know every fault there is with them. The prices are very good and therefore I tend too get him to do lots of stuff in one hit.
David in the Garage at Guildford (well Compton nr Guildford) has looked after my S3 and now Griff(pre-cat). Just had a major service, exhaust manifold sort out and replacement of SS manifold gaskets (£25 for all four)-as I'm sitting here looking at the bill.
What ever hes done to the exhaust - it sounds amazing!!
David is fair and well priced and has attention to detail - but he's a victim of his own success - ie overworked!! If you have time and can give up your tiv for sometime (he had mine for three weeks)then fine
Can't recommend him highly enough.
