Having learned the hard way not to dismiss any minor issue as paranoia, I am investigating a gremlin on my 4.3 Griff. Symptoms as follows:-

After a good problem free run last weekend, I noticed that the red igition warning light was momentarily flashing on when pulling out of junctions etc (though in no way was it ever close to stalling). I also noticed it flashing intermittently during hot idle when parked at home. Whilst driving at low speed (40mph) in 4th and 5th gear, I also noticed a very slight misfire (i.e. with no pressure on accelerator). This seemed to immediatley smooth out on gentle acceleration. Up to this point, the engine has always run very smoothly with no previous issues of this type. Battery should be OK as I am using an optimate charger. Anyone had similar problems? Thanks in advance...

If it's the ignition warning light, I would suggest a possible problem with the alternator or a slipping drive (fan) belt.

Have you checked all the bolts holding the alternator in place are tight?

99% alternator, may be a worn bearing in the alternator itself if none of the previously suggested options.

Thanks for the advice, I'll get me spanners on it and see what happens.
