The brake discs have come from a variety of sources (Granada, Sierras, Escorts etc) with slight differences in the offset which means that the uprights, brake callipers and discs are matched. In other words measure the ones that you have and get the replacement to match those. If you don't you may be unlucky enough to find your nice new discs do not fit correctly or even worse!

Have a look at this

Since then I've also replaced the rear's with the same (I like a matching set). They work well enough, but personally I don't like the feel of the grooves on the discs through the brake pedal. When you're pushing on quite hard, you can really feel the grooves slicing away at the pads. I would personally go for just drilled if you can get them. These were the same parts as used by my mate with his 96 Griff 500.

I have upgraded my 240mm front disk (Griff 430) to a 283mm disk plus a plug and play caliper.
The front disk is the original Sierra Cosworth 2WD and the caliper is from the Sierra Cosworth 4WD or Escort Cosworth turbo 4WD (they have different Part Numbers but they are the same). The space between disk and caliper is just 1 mm but it fits without any changes.
(the original Sierra Cosworth 4WD disc is just 279 mm, that is the reason for the 1mm gap)
Cheers Jochen

I recommend staying well away from drilled discs if you're doing any track work, they are prone to crack when they overheat. Can be nasty.
See page 184 in the new bible for an example. Managed to split both front discs almost into 2. The bell was the only thing holding them together.
