This question has probably been asked ad infinitum but I cant find the thread.

Has anybody got nitrous in their TVR? Also, I have heard many arguments about whether or not it damages the engine. Usually between numptys like me who only have a bit of knowledge (more dangerous than non at all I think!).

Obviously - additional stress can only do damage in the long term for a car designed to a certain tolerance, but since Nos is only used for a couple of seconds at a time, could it actually do that much damage?

Cheers

There was one for sale in NZ 7 months ago with a Nitros kit. So I know it has been done. Just do not know how

One of the MAXPOWER boys desecrated a Cerbera and put Nitrous in it.... as if you actually need Nitrous in a car that will do 0-60 in under 4 secs !

If your looking for a serious performance upgrade look no further than neon-lighted 'Baby-on-board' stickers.

Contact Richard at RT Racing - he had NO2 fitted to his Griff and achieved the fastest lap at Zolder.

Richard spent about £8k strenthgening the engine before fitting the Nitrous. Clutches were lasting around 800-1000 miles and the chassis was twisting and distorting under the power.

Nitrous is also banned from motor sport so no sprinting if that is important to you.

Uumm yes at 6000rpm each piston is belting up and down 50 times a second, if the cylinder pressure was doubled (via the use of a lot of nitrous) then in 2 seconds you will have plenty of time to stress the piston, especially if you then work your merrry way through a couple of nitrous bottles.

Yes you can use it but restrict yourself to the 50Bhp kit until you fit forged pistons, also either fit a mapped nitrous injection system or install the gas jet with a long line between the solenoid and the nozzle to introduce a 'lag' and keep the strain on the transmission down.
