When I fill up with petrol the fuel delivery cuts off every few seconds and it takes ages to fill the tank. I admit that I do tend to push the nozzle into the fuel tank filler hole as far as it will go - maybe my technique is poor. Any hints on how to avoid the fuel delivery cutting off?

Thanks.

Ah - the old fill up technique question!

You're not the first to ask this one!

My technique is probably best described:

Stand on the nearside
remove filler cap
point nozzle across the car (in line with the front edge of the boot lid)
place nozzle in filler, wiggle slightly and gently (down Mungo!) - it should go in quite easily and deliver smoothly.

if you put the nozzle in then turn it anti clockwise so that the trigger guard is against the boot lid it'll drop in a bit more
