My exhaust system is blowing slightly at the manifolds & I was wondering is it an easy enough job to carry out yourself? Tower View Racing said there was around 6 hrs labour involved which made it a bit costly for them to do this on top of the other items which they carried out.

Any advice / specialist tools required?

Apparently some of the studs are very difficult to get to. And you will end up with many scrapes on your knuckles. Most people on here who have done the job have made up shortened spanners and modified sockets. Mine need doing, not sure I can really be bothered with all the piddling around so I may get it done at Penninsula. Although I was told 2 hours?

Personally i think anybody with a bit of a mechanical minded brain could do it but its the old pigeon of the Bolts being cooked, shearing off when you are trying to undo them.If its at a garage then thats there problem to deal with it within the agreed price, plus they probably have the equipment to get the sheared bolts out.
That saying i am sure if you do a search on the griffith and Chimaera threads you should find more info.
I think i did read somewhere that there is just nough room to prise the exhaust away and slide the old one out a new ones in.

I blew a manifold gasket the day I picked up my Griff 3 years ago. I was "outpacing" a boxster at the time.

Mail me offline if you want to know the repair bill cost and details of the exceptionally gifted value-for-money mechanic.

It is covered in detail in the new bible but you really do need some modified tools or a couple of disposable kids because access is pretty hard. And yes there is a big risk of shearing bolts etc.
