I have just fitted the flying lead for an optimate to my battery. However, when I arm the alarm system the siren goes off immediatley. The immobiliser arms itself ok after 20 seconds. I thought it was as I was supplying current to the battery and the alarm could sense it. But if I disconnect the charger, it still goes off, any one got any thoughts. I have checked I never disturbed any wires when putting the ECU and wiring loom back ontop of the battery, Im at a bit of a loss now as to what is happening. Any thoughts would be appreeciated. Cheers

Have you tried turning the alarm off with the overide key( into Valate mode) and trhen try turning it back on.
I would prehaps check all the wires for the alarm including the push button sensors on the doors and the sensor under the centre console.

Must admit it does sound a bit strange that the alarm goes of straight away (a short circuit maybe) that only shows when arming.

The only other thing worth trying is going back over everything you done regarding the optimate and even maybe reversing everything back to how it was before and see if this cures the problem.

Hope some of this might help.

I dont have a hey with my alarm, Its a Meta 36/99T. Well I never had a key anyway, if it needs one in trouble. I have enev taken the fuse out of the flying lead incase it was causing a short and it still goes off. Bit of a git really as it means i cant lock the car. Luckily its in the garage and bagged up for the winter. Curious.

The only thing I can think of to do is as you said, completley remove the flying lead. I may disconnect the battery also to se if the alarm will reset itself. Anyone know what all the relays/fuses are for in the bunch which is in the loom with the ECU. These are the only wires I have handled.
