Comments please....is it for real?

A friend is taking this out for test-drive tonight. It is for sale at a dealers near Bournemouth. I can't believe the mileage is genuine.
1992 K 5 spd, electric windows, alloys, 1 owner since 1992, 3,700 miles, red/black leather £14750.
My mate reckons it looks like new.
3,700 miles in 10 years?

Might well be, I've seen a few different 'special' cars with extremely low mileage, and a number of years old. Last I can recall was an Escort Cosworth with 1000 miles on it, for pretty much list price, despite the fact it was 8-10 years old.
Who knows why people go buy such things then don't use them.
Suppose as long as you check the provenence, you might be getting a bargain. Then again, would something like this not require a major service if it had been stored for so long?

i would reccomend he buys it sharpish as now you have posted the link to such a rare beast it will sell v quickly
such low mileage is not neccessarily good, but a pre cat griff is a rare beast and i expect that one will become a classic in time.
Besides its within 1500 of many that have done 70k and I know which will be worth more in a few years time.

I have been looking for a Griff since just before Christmas so if he doesn't want it I may bite the dealers arm off.
Shedloads of opinion with regard to PAS - all down to personal preference? I get on absolutely fine with mine (non-PAS)...
IIRC the T5 is meant to be stronger, and the ratios differ from the Rover unit.
Call me a stingey git if you like, but nearly 15 Grand for an 11 year old Griff seems like a lot to me - regardless of mileage. £8-9k would be more realistic I would have thought
BUT, if it's genuinely like new with low mileage and what you really want and you are happy to pay the price then buy it

15 grand might seem a bit high, but 8-9 would be daft i recon you could get 10 grand for a ropey one.
The pre-Cat models are in short supply, so you might need to pay over the odds for one, 500s seam to offer best value at present.
