I'm in the process of removing the G/box on my Griff 500 two slight problems, first the propshaft is a fraction to long to drop clear of a chassis tube under the diff do I need to lift the motor abit to move the box and prop forward to gain clearence?,secondly is their an easy way to get at the gear shift remote linkage bolts hidden up in the transmission tunnel?a panel under the center console perhaps, any pearls of wisdom re clutch replacement and G/box removal most welcome.

Have you got the Bible? Steve Heath has a section on removing the gearbox / clutch... Easy way re; linkage is remove the transmission tunnel, hard way is to reach round from underneath...

the bible does mention a cover under the leather transmission cover this would appear to be the easy way to get to the linkage guess I'll have to get the cover off and take a look

The only thing to remove is the lever so that it doesn't ctach. The propshaft can stay in situ just pushed out of the way if it is being uncoperative. Some of them are adjustable and can be shortened to faciltate their remocval/ See piccy a couple of pages furthe on in't bible. If it looks like that it can be shortened.
