At last, i have now fitted new dash designed by me! I had to lengthen some wires, to move indicator repeaters up between speedo and tacho, but no major probs......Just need some brass button covers now...
What do you think???

And Then......

Hope you like, i think it makes the car look that bit more modern, but some purists will still like the original look, but each to their own and good on them....

Worth the 24hr wait for the pics!

Looks really good. I am planning a similar exerscise but in carbon, to put some of the warning lights where I can see them.
Did you put the air vents somewhere else, or just not bother with them?

Did not bother with air vents for two reasons, 1/ There is so much radiant heat from engine do not need heater, and 2/ Could not find any vents to suit new panel, and do not like the Austin maxi ones fitted.
Just have to decide wether to blank off existing recangle holes, in bulkhead or duct elsewhere???

Nice piece of work, love the "machine-turning" or whatever they call it, nice and "bold"! Post a picture when you get the brass button on, will finish it off. Looks like you need to replce the "walnut effect" radio surround now? Funney what you say about the vents, I drive my car a lot with the roof down on nice days and like the hand level vent which keeps my gear change hand warm, all I want is a matching vent for my right hand! Rich...

Speak to either Leven or David Batty (he can also fit the new Leven ones) they've both got some pretty special new materials and finishes, and at sensible prices. But you need to speak to them as they haven't got pictures on the website yet, but do have loads of material sample swatches

well done mate, that looks terrific, and the leather is just right for it.......you're going to have to bin the radio for a silver jobber though it looks well out of place. How much aggro was it to swap out, is the heater switch panel much problem?

Thanks, i think the car now looks complete (interior wise anyway) I find my self keep looking at the dash (sad i know!) The whole job was not too bad,as mentioned before the worst part is the heater control panel, but take it slow and do not rush..Just got to find the right alloy wheels now........

yeah thats a tricky one, I think something curvy like spiders'll do it (and not look too bling bling either)

That is well Smart, does make it look like a brand new design inside. Looks good with the grey leather also. How much was the whole project
out of interest.

Excluding man hours to fit and make etc. Cost £80 ish for switches, covers, LED's and metal. (you would also need cerbera indicator icons), i had some from a cerbera dash i bought from a breakers? But obviously the time is making the dash and fitting....This was for main dash only...The heater panel was extra...
