I have just been browsing through Kit Car magazine and spotted an advert near the back for ceramic coating of exhaust manifolds. Heat insulation is promised, but I suspect that, if it is like a coat of paint, ceramic coating could also get around the problem of accelerated damage of the manifolds through moisture being trapped under heat-wrap material. Seems like a good idea to me; may be costly to do, but then you get reduced engine bay temperature and your manifolds would maintain their normal life-expectancy and not wilt like the England cricket team will in Zimbabwe! What do you guys think? Anyone have experience of this? I suspect not because I have not seen this mentioned in previous posts.
