Not really related to my other problem but when I was under the Griff I found that I have a small oil leak that's actually being caused by a small crack in the top of the oil filter where one of the metal coolant pipes has been rubbing against it, anyway it seems a fairly easy fix of oil change, new filter and adjust where the coolant pipe runs but I really can't be arsed to drive down to the dealers just for a filter if I can help it, I don't want to drain oil take off filter and take it to the local motor factors either as I'd like to avoid having to prime the pump again if pos' so the question is, is the oil filter a standard one off of a 4.6 Range Rover ???

take along part no. off your current filter when you buy new one for cross reference.my local motorworld gave me a filter which fitted thread wise but was too long and fouled the framework so it wouldnt fit! and this was listed as 4.6 range rover(something to do with so many variations and applications i suspect).so a good idea would also be to measure length-sometimes cross references still give choice of two!

Unipart part no. for the small filter is GFE320

Champion part no. for the large one is C143

the longer length filter won't fit mine also,

Great info on oil filter part numbers and fitment.
I am attempting to put together a parts list of bits the TVR did not make.
This will help owners in the years to come.
Thanks every one
