I would refer the Right Honourable Gentleman to the following recent post:

in which the general consensus was that these twin hoops appear to be largely cosmetic and unlikely to save one's bacon in the event of a roll-over.
The other design, however, looks to have the additional bracing to the chassis mounting points and it therefore far more of a safety item.
Are you after looks or safety?
