Hi all,

Merry Xmas and all that stuff, i would be having a great xmas time but ive broken down and am at a loss as to what the problem is (so is the RAC bloke). The car started fine this morning, 1st time, got a hundred yards i changed down for a junction and it stalled and would not restart, eventually got it to fire again, got it upto temp, and it would rev freely when stationary and settle to a reasonably smooth idle, but when i set off, the power delievery was poor and it soon stalled again???? we have tried disconnecting the ecu for 10 mins to resest that, disconnecting the temp sensor, checked the plugs and distributor. Is there anything im missing. Such a buG£3r its ben so reliable for the last 5 years, ps its a 94 griff 500
cheers

Sorry to hear about your Griff problems...really bad news! Looks like a trip to TMS?

Better luck for 2003!

Not the Fuse Link under the car is it?

Mine went, managed to start the car and limp it home.

A guy at Walldonway said it usually dies as you are slowing down, i.e brakes/brake lights on.

Might be worth cleaning the stepper motor (oh no - not that one again !)

Doesn't really sound like that's the problem though, but for 15 mins work it just might help.

Best of luck and Happy New Year etc.........

Have you run very low on fuel recently? Could it be a partial blockage somewhere? Is the fuel pump working continuously?

Or how about the vacuum advance mechanism - check the pipe between the plenum chamber and the distributor.

Best of luck sorting this out before it casues further grief.

Hutch

Edited to add the bit about fuel pump
