watching telly last night when a car alarm starts off, realised it was mine and tried to stop the thing with no success, I pulled the connector off the siren and it kept going! the only way of shutting it up was to rip it out and dump it in a bucket of water. Got up this morning and lifted it out and it started off again...why can't all the electrics be this resilient to water. BTW the indicators didn't flash so I guess my third alarm has packed up! I moved mine to a different position because of the water problem and angled the siren downwards to stop any water getting in it that way. It was hilarious when it got wet as the siren would make some of the weirdest types of dying android noises , the best one being in front of a pub garden full of people and on arming the alarm it let out a great big cat Meeeoooowww..it was great, they all thought it was standard fitment but I couldnt get inside quick enough as I thought any second now the things going to **** itself and im not going to be able to turn it off, it behaved itself thankfully. Apache, I think theres a 12v / 6v rechargable battery in the siren so if its cut from the loom ( or gets wet) it has power to work, its funny though when you have the siren in your hand and its still going off you cant help but get that "I've cut the wrong wire" feeling......ps, mine was ok after I let it dry out..
