Clean Pants Please!
Discussion
We are first time buyers of TVR. We went to see a 5 litre Griff and a Chimera. Husband wanted Griff, Wife wanted Chimera. Fall out . Fight . Griff wins .
The Griff we bought sounds very similar to the one that Teuchtar looked at, but then I suppose they all do. The bonnet stay was missing, there were cracks in the doors, a bizarre clunk from the back, really smelly carpets, a hood that lets in and a really blugh stink from the engine .
Did we walk away - Good Sir, I think not!!
Now the good news. We got a new bonnet stay, we sorted the doors and the car got the fully girlie valet. As for the bizarre clunk, the Wife thinks its a loose jack rolling around in the boot. And the blugh stink - well, it still stinks but its quite nice really once you get used to it. The odd pale ferny green colour (as we heard it described) is actually Starmist Ocean Haze which, when polished to a gleam, looks just as nice as it sounds.
We took the car to Brian at Dreadnought garage who thinks we've found a cracker. Funnily enough - we think that about Brian.
Anyway, we've had the car for about three weeks now and its a dream. Our new philosophy - give it some welly, hold on and my god - take some clean pants!
