Hello everyone, anyone had a go at handbrake ajustment, I know where the knob is but want to know how easy the job is. It currently takes 2 hans to stop the car rolling on a slight incline. bearable but a pain in the botty.

Mines the same. Can pull the lever 2 notches without having a hernia, but the car still rolls. Pulling it up 3 is definatly a 2 handed job... oo eer!

Obviously a feature - I have a 420SE (Wedge) and the handbrake is only good for a couple of months after a service. I didn't notice it much until 2 years ago when I moved to a house with a parking area on a slope but now it's a pain. I park it in gear and put a cloth over the gear knob to remind me it's in gear before I try and start it. Good luck with any fix Steve Hall

engineer told me to stand on the brake pedal while pulling the handbrake on to get more effect - works for me

My dealer advised me to hold my Chimaera on the footbrake whilst applying the handbrake. It works!!

Sit on the Central armrest and take the brake off with two hands!! Oh and you might want someone to have their foot on the brake as well

Tpm >>Just been away for the weekend..must have put the handbrake on a bit too much..now I can't release the bast@rd thing..any ideas.<< 3 weetabix? This is "one of those things your partner does to piss you off" jobs (could start a thread here?) - I have a tendency to put on the handbrake on the wifes car too hard, such that she is not tall/strong enough to release it! Not a good idea when she has to be out the house at 0530hrs, and I am working at home & looking forward to a lie in. Nut
