Griff buyers guide due out tomorrow in Classic Car
Discussion
A few weeks ago Classic Cars borrowed our 1992 4.3 Candy Apple Red Griff for a photo-shoot. It is due to appear on the cover and in a buyers guide article for the January edition out tomorrow. And yes before anyone makes any comments, we know the nose cone is Griff 500 not 4.3 shape. Unfortunately the factory didn't have any original ones available when it had to be replaced after an accident.
ps We have owned our Griff from new (Feb 1992) which is probably a record unless you know any different?

Great news, With the ceased production And articles like this the Griffith market should remain stong, there was an article about a year ago in Classic & sportscar, the car they used was almost 10 years old and they were totally impressed with the durable build quality and everything worked, which i have to say also applies to my 92 Griff.. top stuff !!!!!

I've just aquired a JUNE 1992 Performance Car with the Title:
GRIFFITH: TVR takes on the world
Peter Tomalin takes 'J524 MHG' a 4.3 Griffith through its paces in the Lake District 18 months after it first appearing at the MotorShow.
Anyone on here have this one??
With comments like ' A glimpse of E-type,a suggestion
of Z1 shades of mighty
AC Cobra, a trace of Ferrari.
Thats in good company with names like that.

Ditto Rich...
I believe that Griff is still owned / used by the factory, Neil Andersons car ??
It was probably heavily Tweeked, as it matched the performance of a 500 !

Back on Original Topic.
Hi Debbie, as it's on the cover I assume that you solved the ECU problem. Dare I say it "looks orange", but that's the sunset and I do feel it has darken'd since the "respray"
Nice to see Andy gets a mention; perhaps you should do a piece for Tony Conner on 'my day(s) photoshoot(s)'. I remember you in 1991 in the S2 at one of the Club meets saying you'd just ordered it at the Motorshow.
Is this your first post? if so welcome to PH. Since we last spoke, I did get a Griffith, #001 of the last 100, the '99 blue one I went to see that day was too much.
See you (and Chris)
David

thanks for the link, nice to see my old Griff (K3GRF) in the Autocar article '4.3 Griff used', have copy of article but its a bit scruffy and as it was a supplement Autocar don't have any back issues. If anyone has a copy to sell you would be greatly rewarded. 'A16 TVR' looks fantastic in mag and there are plenty in my local shops, got mine in petrol station today.
Cheers Al.

Finally got hold of "Classic Cars" and the buyers guide.
Well, a few inaccuracies there, I feel
"all TVRs will now have an AJPV8"
More importantly, Dave Batty was misquoted, I have only covered 32,000 miles in TWO years.
Now the thing is - how can AB have stated "a Griff is not the ideal everyday choice" !!!!
Didn't tell me that when he flogged me my dodgy motor!
Only jesting - mine is beautiful and runs (almost) every day.
Eat your words Mr B "Apprentice" don't listen to him - he's leading you astray!
