then can you tell me what make the noise in front of the driver if you turn the key all the way but dont start it. i can hear the fuel pump prime but theres another noise from the engine bay and i wondered if anyone might know what it is cheers

Probably the fuel pressure relief valve. Makes a sort of rumble/click if you pressurise the system and don't start up. Usually get this when I switch on the electrics to open the boot before letting the immobiliser activate - if u know what I mean.

Seconded. Fuel pressure release valve or purge tank valve.
