Draughty windows (along the roof seal)

Dunno if anyone wants to try this. I had a problem with the window glass not meeting the roof very well. The window was kinda sloping down from front to back on both sides too much so no matter how high the glass was adjusted...there was still a gap at the back. 
I know you can adjust the door hinges and striker plate but as I didn't really know this I jumped straight in and reprofiled the roof seal rail using spacer washers. 
Was this a V Bad Idea (oops already done it) or are you all going to call me a genius

Alternatively you could have just unscrewed the window upper stop a couple of turns so that the window rises a few mm higher. (Use a flexible paint scraper down the side of the glass on the inside, about half the way along and prise the rubber from the glass so that you can see the screw head.)

Tried this Craig but the profile of the glass was such that there was still a gap at the rear of the glass and the front of the glass was catching badly and stopping the door closing properly. I guess the door needs rehanging somehow but I really don't want to go that route...yet anyhow.
The door rehanging just needs 2 of you with a bit of time on your hands (and appropriate spanners/torx bits)
The first thing to do is to make sure the door is shimmed correctly at the front, so that it doesn't stand proud or indented at top or bottom. There will be multiple shims already on the door bolts at the front. (You only need to loosen off the bolts, as they are U shaped shims, so can be removed easily)
After this you then try & get the rear of the door height correct (this is where the second person comes in handy)
After multiple attempts, you will probably get close - then you need to rejig the door striker on the back end of the door (torx bolts IIRC)
Does your door line look good compared to the body? If it does, then it sounds like the recommended way to get the glass fitting correctly is to pull the door to bits & reposition the mechanism - not for the faint hearted!!
