Foxguard anyone?
Discussion
Hello davidd, no I'd not heard of it either. But to explain a little more its called last door arming, which goes like this. After the last door is closed the alarm automatically arms itself after 45secs but doesn't lock the doors. You need to use the remote fob for this. Whilst this is fine generally, it drives you made when you are faffing about in and out of the car like most of us do for cleaning and maintaining and I never seem to have the remote fob handy when the sodding thing goes off! which is great when you've got your head under the bonnet. The only way around it is to leave a door permenantly open which is not always practical.
The drivers handbook mentions the facility but not how to enable/disable the function, only tells you to contact your dealer. Dealer response - they don't make Foxguard's anymore!
So now I've explained myself a little better you'll be able to tell me how to sort it, just kidding, but maybe somebody's got the same set-up.

davidd said: How very odd, I've got a foxguard on my Griff (96 'p') and it does not do this, leave it for 30 seconds and it immobilises, but does not set the alarm, that would be annoying. You could try disconnecting the battery to reset the alarm.
D.
Same goes here on my 96N and havent found anything about last door arming in the manual.

Does anyone know how to disable the last door arming feature on the Foxguard alarm? it really pi@@es me off.
Thanks, David
I've got a manual for a Foxguard series alarm - no idea which model, but it discusses "Electronic Valet Override Mode" which appears to do as you request, as follows:-
Should you wish to Electronically Override the alarm system the following sequence must be followed:-
Alarm in disarmed mode.
Ignition ON.
Hold down either button on radio key.
A single loud chirp is heard to acknowledge the Ultrasonic Shut Off.
Continue holding down the button on the radio key for a further 6 seconds.
A single soft tone is emitted and the dashboard LED illuminated continously.
Now release the button on the radio key.
The alarm system is now Overridden and it will disable the Last Door Arming.
To return the alarm back to the normal operation just press either button on your radio key, the dashboard LED will extinguish and the alrm will arm. To disarm the alarm press either button on the radio key until the alarm responds.
I hope this works/helps!
