Picked up the Griff today with the new ACT carbon twin plenum.

Sound and looks are great, throttle response is much improved, however due to the heavy rain I haven't been able to put it to the test yet.
Keep you posted when I get a chance.

Hi Gerjo, ditto my friend. Had it fitted last Wednesday and it has pi55ed down ever since!

Agree with everything you say, the looks, the sound, the increased throttle response and the weather Rich...

As tim Quotes " Looks The Buisness "

What where your main reason's for having them installed.

Do you race or sprint or are they purely a cosmetic thang

it changes because I had the pre-cats taken out plus the fact that the twin throttles make a sucking sound; also the engine itself seems to sound more serious/aggressive but that could just be me.
Exhaust: had the standard muffler replaced with one half the size.
Total sound package: just great!

I did it for the extra power, cosmetics are just a nice bonus. No, I don't plan to do any racing, just a few track days with the TVR club.

very neat Rich;
in my case the dealer had to coop with the PAS and aircon units which made fitting quite a challenge, but they did a good job in the end!

first timed results after a reasonable dry day:

40-100 mph in third: 7,9 s.
(80-120 km/h) 50-75 mph in fifth: 5,8 s.

that is Cerbera level! (well at least up to this point)

also felt that it is holding back a bit at low revs (1500-2500) and high revs (5000+)

response is absolutely fantastic!

all this without a rolling road session; I'm really curious what Mark's magic can still do

BTW in the proces I really destroyed a Merc 55 AMG which felt good!

Hi Gerjo
without a doubt it needs more fuel, Curiously the biggest increase should be at higher revs right up to 6000 rpm, BTW Mark does suggest 3bar fuel pressure,(2.5 is standard) i would go easy if its not keen to rev above 5000 until Mark has "breathed on it" unless increasing the fuel pressure helps.
Hope the weather stays dry.

hi Tim,

indeed I still need to have a different fuel pressure device installed since the dealer told me the standard TVR one can't be adjusted.
I will talk to Mark this week as well.

I would agree with this. I had a Tornado chip and then had the inlet stuff breathed on afterwards. When the engine was dynoed, they noticed the top end was running very weak. Mark A said that this was understandable as the Tornado chip hadn't been modified to give more fuel for the extra air that was going in.

As this can cause cylinder melting, Mark recommended changing the green tuning resistor for a white one and disconnecting the lambdas. This uses the non-cat map in the chip so more fuel is injected. This is a temporary mod until I can afford another rolling road session. Might be worth talking to him about it?

thanks Ian

Mark already gave me a different chip which includes the twin plenum setup, so it shouldn't be too bad.
I will talk to him about it and have the fuel pressure raised.

Just thought I would add that Pearts have just contacted me and will increase my premium by £22 for the Induction system/throttle etc., the chip and the brake upgrade (which I hadn't got round to telling them about back in the summer) - I thought this was ok? Rich...

Sunninghill haven't charged anything for the 520 or the Griff shopping trolley mods.

Curiously i have never been charged extra either, although £22 sounds very reasonable, I think the trick is to give them as much info as possible and don't try to hide anything, If poss get the supplier / specialist to document it.
This warrants a separate thread because i keep speaking to people with big brakes ETC who haven't told the insurance!!
