I''ve often wondered about an alternative route for this as my ducting has been hammered by the bonnet at the radiator and as it runs the length of the engine bay must absorb lots of heat. I cut into the engine bay wall behind the duct just forward of the meter and there seems to be plenty of space to route air. The only snag is I think the air for the cabin comes in this way too so it may cause probs with fumes.....if you don''t hear from me after a while.......

I've modified the V8S to draw cold air from the high pressure zone in front of the windscreen. Doesn't work too well stationary but once its moving the engine gets nice cold air. Cheers, Peter Humphries (temporarily without a green V8S)
