I dont mind you think im a bit of Knob, but for some strange reason i woukld like to Try and make an Aliminum Edge to the centre console where the gear stick is.
I reckon it would Finish that area of quite nicely.

So I am searching for Ideas.

I though of something maybe U shaped that could slide over the edge but then there is some tight bends so that might be a nono.
Or maybe something Flat that is screwed or bolted to the console.Tastefully of course.

BB,

Sounds like a great idea, if you come up with a solution that looks right I would like to make the same for my GrifF.

I reckon its got to be aluminium and probably half round or similar in section, as you say it could be screwed to the console. The radius of the corners are a bit tight to bend something round though.

What about cutting the whole ring out of aluminium plate and filing it to get the right profile? - lot of work though.

But then it will look like an M3, no?

I agree that the area around the gaiter looks unfinished, I thought about padding the floppy leather bit out a bit as there is quite a gap between this and the fibreglass bit

I looked at this a long time ago with the idea to cast a unit to fit. Unfortunately the gear stick holes are cut by hand and therefore are different car-to-car. You could however make a one-off mould in clay to create a sand casting for you own car.
