Hi all. After the question about the idle problem yesterday, I now have something else... This time, the question is directed to everyone with experience in interior renovation: What material or product should I use as the intermediate layer or padding when reupholstering the center console and/or dashboard? When I did this myself a few years ago, the original material was no longer available despite extensive research. Instead, I used a thin layer of Armaflex. Now it turns out that this material doesn't seem to be stable enough in areas that are particularly problematic, such as around the door openers. Over time, the tension in these areas appears to be too strong, causing the Armaflex to break down internally, which results in the vinyl cover warping unattractively. Annoying—having to redo everything... But with what material? What will we stable enough on the long term? What exactly do the (tvr-)professionals use? (Here in (almost) Eastern Europe, I don't know any upholsterers with experience in TVR interiors...). Thanks!

I used sound proof fire retardant duct foam from Custom Audio that was 17 years ago something like this stuff

I also put it inside the doors, under the dog shelf and on the floor smile

Hi. The material you need is called scrim foam. We used it on Rollers and Bentleys .
