rain proof, when parked-up, temporary targa solutions?
Discussion
When nipping into shops / pub for a while, has anyone thought it would be good to have a quick easily deployed mid section to keep the rain out? - Its fiddly (and painful for us oldies) getting targa panel out boot for short stops
Keep running it thru my mind....thinking maybe some sort of mini roller blind solution, deployed from leading edge of targa loop header rail - add handle to middle of targa hoop, then pull forward MX5 style, then drag hand forward few inches to pull blind forward, to meet magnetic catches on windscreen top, strong enough to hold targa rear up without securing elbows...
Or replicate removable targa panel in, say 3 bars, cut left to right, with piano style hinging and rubber seal strips, that fold up hinged to, again using house window shutter style magnets, to stop them flapping about when the hood is lowered - these stacking concertina style against targa loop - hopefully behind your head when driving, traditional top up (they neednt be thick / take up much space)
Lower windows as u pull up, grab central handle on concertina roof stack which unfold, bringing main rear targa loop with them - could even automate partially, maybe even fully + all controlled by alarm remote, which finally raise windows, lock doors and safety isolate battery other than fused supply to alarm and radio - Fuel pump emergency switch with various types of triggers (whilst driving / parked) is worth some thought too, particularly if 2 stage, with second stage triggering a plumbed extinguisher system...
An easy fit park-assist electric actuated steering kit for chimps an Griffs would sell too? - Being 90s cars, I wonder what the owner demographic is these days.... Half around retirement age?
Might even raise my seat 2" on rubber gearbox bobbins...
Old, but still dreaming....
Still looking for some enthusiast non specialist skilled help for semi seized pensioner in dry Kettering garage with recommissioning a superb low mileage Griff
With many thanks to Alun who kindly volunteered, but now unfortunately unable due to work commitments

Surrey Roof would work. Plus you don't have to reinvent the wheel.

I have them for the Tamora and S. They need a couple of mods (which I realy don't get why Roger doesn't just adopt) and adjusting to fit the specific TVR to accommodate the wild factory build tollerances. Best non performance mod you can do to a TVR in my humble onion.

We have had a Leven style leather roof cover for many years.

Just pop it on - can secure it via side straps and trapping it under the bonnet and boot lid.

I have a half cover from here https://www.everycarcovered.com/pages/half-size-ca...
Mostly use as on tours as an extra cover if there's rain expected, but also good as indoor cover to keep the dust off in the garage.
Would work ok for temporary cover as you describe and only about £50 when I bought mine.
